Sweetwater Speedway
July 4th Racing Brought New Winners
July 4th was the beginning of a three-day race weekend at Sweetwater Speedway. There was a record 120 entries plus an additional 10 late models for practice. The hot temperatures made for a slick track, but the drivers in all divisions put on a great show.
In the IMCA Sport Mod there were a record 31 entries for the season making drivers battle their way through a B main to make the A main event. It was a great race with Tony Dugan, 2023 Track Champion, coming from a 4th place start to become the feature winner. This was his first feature win this season after having a dominating season last year. In customary fashion he saluted the fans on the the front stretch after his win.
