July 5th Races Brought More First Time Winners to the Track

The excitement from the weekend kept on coming Friday July 5th as we had the first Late Model race of the season and first time winners to the track in Late Model, Hobby Stock and Stock Car divisions. It was another night of great with even more cars showing up for a total of 131 racers on the track. The record for the speedway is 143 competitors on May 23, 2020.

The Late Models brought a great field of drivers to the track. In the heat races we saw a wreck take out Cherokee Dillin and end her night early. Jeremy Petty in the 77P was dominate all night and took home his first win at the speedway. Late Model Feature Results

The IMCA Stock Cars were down two competitors after Thursday nights blown motor in the 3L of Dillion Lawrence and a wreck that left Beau Hutchison both just watching from the pits. The other drivers still put on a great show and Brad Ostler in the 23 led every lap for this first win at the Speedway.

IMCA Sport Compacts saw 28 drivers competing for the win. Cody Poll, Lane Owens, Jonathan Crawford and Ernie Licking put on a great performance in the front with Cody Poll taking home his second win at the speedway this season.

The IMCA Modifieds saw 29 drivers hit the track. There was great racing all night with drivers coming from the back to finish in the top 5. Michael Hale in the 01H was the hard charger for the night coming out of the B Main and advancing 15 spots but he didn't quite have enough for hometown favorite Braxton Yeager in the 33BY. This is Yeager's 2nd win of the season at the track.

IMCA Sport Mods had 29 drivers hit the track and then each other. It was a caution filled night that ended under caution with Slade Pitt who led the last 4 restarts taking home the win. It was not the way the drivers or track wanted to end the night, but over time and out of patience it came to an end.
